| Ah, the New Year. Let the good times roll. I spent my day burning U2 bootlegs and finishing up homework. Booyah.
Time to look back on last year's resolutions...
1. Get an A. (which is becoming increasingly more difficult)
2. Get my ass over to Quebec in May.
3. Pay for school using entirely my own money.
4. Get in shape. (that'll wait til spring/summer)
5. Be less of a packrat.
I got a bike in the summer, which I used minimally. I'm gonna try to put myself on a regiment this year, involving biking and possibly jogging. (as much as I hate jogging... I mean, why run unless you're in danger of some kind? I should get someone to drive behind me at a slow speed so that I have some motivation to run) I don't think I've become any less of a packrat. I have shoeboxes of crap that I can't part with, ie. birthday cards from 5 years ago, maps of Montreal, box upon box of pencils, old magazines, puzzles, etc, etc, etc.
Anywho, time for some new resolutions.
1. Get another A. (creative, no?)
2. Possibly get a 2nd job for the spring/summer.
3. Get into shape, maybe take up soccer again.
4. Get knowledge and experience for getting into the faculty of education.
5. Get more involved in my classes.
There we go. I don't think I can accomplish both 2 and 3; one will have to come at the expense of the other. Oh well.
I head back to school on Wednesday. It's gonna be tough getting my self-discipline back for another 3-4 months. But I think I can do it. ... Go me!
Happy New Year, folks. Enjoy.
| Not bad, not bad. 3 months without an update. I'm done with school for the semester, aside from exams and assignments to do during the break. I miss the days when holidays were just that - holidays. Oh well, no rest for the wicked.
I'm taking on an additional course next semester: French-English translation. I'm looking forward to it mostly, besides the fact that I have to carry a 5 pound dictionary to class everyday. That'll be my exercise.
I was seriously considering getting a second job for some seasonal work, but opted for having some spare time. The Virgin store at the airport was hiring; that'd be one of the coolest jobs to have. Maybe if they're offering spring/summer employment, I'll muster up the energy to give it a shot.
I'm intending to get my Christmas shopping done this week. I scouted out most of my gifts last week, and now I just have to go and buy them. The malls were crazy busy last week; I can't imagine what they'll be like in the next few weeks. And then Boxing Day. People crawling over people to get cheap electronics. I love it. Maybe I'll treat myself to something cheap again this year. I got a $40 dvd player last year. Pretty sweet.
Christmas parties are coming too. My work party is this weekend, and we're having a Secret Santa exchange next weekend. I'm down. I am definitely down.
What else... Went to a pretty cool show at the Collective last week. Ladies & Gentlemen, Sylvie, and Wintersleep. All bands I'd never heard of. But I did end up buying the Ladies & Gentlemen cd, which isn't too bad. Had a great time overall.
Aaand I'm spent.

| Oooh, more options. Neato. Not much of an update. I just thought that since I'm part of a digital photography community, I might as well post some pictures. That's a novel idear.

| Yeah, I'm alive... Barely.
I have 3 days off after working nearly full-time this past week. (Yes, I'm a baby and realize I'll be working full-time for the rest of my natural born life) But man, was I exhausted last night - so exhausted that I went to bed at 9:30.
I wish I could relax during these 3 days though... But I can't. I've got several errands to run and other stuff to take care of before school starts up again. I used to always say to myself that I'm not gonna be on the go all the time, but it seems that it's inevitable. That's life, I guess. I'm still more of a homebody - even though I'm getting to enjoy less of home lately.
This was one of the fastest summers I can remember. Perhaps a sign that I had the most fun. And I think I can say that I really did enjoy this summer. I would have liked to spend more time outdoors, but that's my own fault with my newfound GameCube addiction. It looks beautiful out today though, so maybe I'll dust off the ol' bicycle contraption and go for a ride.
Hrmmm... I think I'll make myself a to-do list. Most of my errands are pretty small, but heck, don't you love crossing stuff off of a to-do list?
Mmm... Sigur Ros. I think I have a new favorite band up there with U2, Coldplay, and The Smiths.
| Aw, the evil Tom Cruise animation doesn't work anymore. Here's the gist of it.
"I hope you don't mind the compliment, but you've got gorgeous eyes."
Some guy said that work to me today. I just about died. He made my day. Thank you anonymous Joe.
So, Canada Day. Twas alright... I hung out with a few people in the afternoon. We went to Ass Park for a while, and then back to my place to watch the South Park movie. I dunno... Everyone seemed kind of disjointed that day. Maybe people were tired - I dunno. Ahhh well.
Aaanerways... It's almost my birthday! Woo. I keep thinking that 20 years old sounds freakishly old. And it does... Compared to the ol' teens. I hadn't even really gotten used to telling people that I was 19.
*Sigh* I've got registration next week. Hopefully I'll have enough money saved up by the end of the summer to pay off my massive tuition fees, without stumbling into debt. I was doing this Canada Day trivia quiz the other day, and one question was about the average debt of a Canadian University student. The lowest choice was $9000. I can't imagine being that much in debt. So hopefully I can keep my head above water for another 4 years. I'm also having lunch with a good buddy of mine that day. Yay! Good times will be had.
No more work until Saturday. Relaxation city, here I come. "Bam! Skeleton city." Maybe I'll get in some bike riding. The weather forecast calls for hot sunny days all week. But I've been had by the weatherman too many times before. They're number one on my hate list. (If I had a hate list)
